Camo Quilt

I am trying to make a camouflage quilt. Anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking of doing about 3 in strips vertically in brown,beige,dark green and a lighter/medium green and then draw the camo shapes with chalk and outline them in black thread to connect the fabric to the batting. I have NEVER made a quilt before so any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried to look online for some info, but all they have is just plain material. Thanks!!
i mean camo material, but nothing about makeing a camo quilt. I want to make a quilt with fabric not camo material.

It would be much easier for you to start with printed fabrics then to try and draw on the camouflage shapes and outline them in the quilting processes. Here is a beginner’s web site for quilting.

Machine quilting takes a lot of practice and the proper tools. Since this is your first quilt, I suggest you piece together your fabrics and either use the method of tying the quilt together or if you tackle machine quilting, purchase a walking foot for your sewing machine.
