Daybed Comforter Cover

Can someone help me understand different types of bedding?
What’s the difference between:
comforters
bedspreads
down and down alternative comforters
duvet covers
daybed covers
comforters – Does not touch the floor and is normally sold or used with a dustruffle.
bedspreads – Touch the floor and have extra length to cover the pillows
down and down alternative comforters – Down Wool and Cotton as opposed to poly fill are warmer and more expensive.
duvet covers – Cover a comforter when you want a new look or to protect the comforter from damage it is easier to wash a duvet cover rather then the entire comforter.
daybed covers – Are for twin beds that double as sofas..typically the bed is longways on a wall and these covers do not have a wall side of material but 2 full sides and a front.. http://www.thespecialtyrentals.com/images/daybed__250_fwps.jpg
