Will bleach ruin my down comforter?
my naughty kitty pooped on my down comforter & i was hoping to save some money by just washing it myself at home… its a pretty good sized stain too. its king-sized, down feathers, & very white. HELP!
If the tag says your comforter is washable, then by all means go ahead and launder it, using some bleach. The bleach will kill any bacteria on and inside where the feathers are. I launder mine all the time, but my tag also says, that I can. Because mine is King Size, I take it to a self Laundromat, and place it in a Tumbler Washing Machine, where it comes out nice-and-fluffy.
