How do I sew my own clothes?
I’m tall, so not everything fits me, and I want to make some really cute shirts. I got a sewing machine last christmas, but I never really use it. I was watching project runway and it’s so inspiring! I love the things they make! I have basic knowledge of how to sew (I sewed a quilt before, turned out really cool) but I don’t know how to sew clothes. Can anyone help me?
first of all, take a sewing class. it helps a lot when you are a beginner. of course, you can teach yourself how to sew by reading books, going online, etc and trying different things. but its a lot easier when there’s a teacher around to help you if you are having problems/have questions.
and second you need to buy some fabric from joannes or any craft/fabric store. then you need to buy a pattern piece. so if you want to make a shirt, you need to choose a pattern piece for that. then just read the directions and you can do it.
