Question about bug bombing my house
I live in a really, really old house and this summer has been a killer in terms of fleas, flies, ladybugs, and subsequently, spiders. I’ve tried sprays, carpet powders, etc, but I think I have no choice but to use one of those bomb things. My question is, what will become of my couch and the cushions, my bed, and my down comforter afterward? I can’t wash those in the washing machine–do I have to throw them away and get new ones? Also, I don’t have a dishwasher, I’m afraid my dishes will still have residue on them even if I cover them and wash them afterward. Any advice from people who’ve had to do a bug bomb before?
Bug bombing is pretty messy and you have to vacate your home for awhile while it does it’s work (about 3-4 hours) plus turn off any pilot lights (if you have that) too due to the pilot light possibly igniting the fumes. It does work, but if you can at all afford to hire a pest control service instead who can do a spot spray inside all of your home. I had a MAJOR flea infestation and I had someone come and spray 1x only (I have hard wood and carpeting) and my flea infestation was over immediately. This is the most effective way to eradicate them quickly without messing your couch and comforter up, etc. and you will be done with it. I also decided to hire them to spray outside due to fleas and black widow spiders (which I hate) that I do not want to be in contact with when I work in the yard. If you do decide to bug bomb just cover all of the items you listed with newspaper – take plants outside.
