Lightweight Duvets

lightweight duvets
duvets: down or synthetic?

i am about to buy a new duvet for my bed and i’ve always had a lightweight down comforter in a cover. my husband likes it cooold so i even sleep with it in the heat of the Texas summer. while comparison shopping, i am seeing more and more options of Primaloft and synthetic, but i am not really sure of the differences and pros/cons outside of allergens.

sometimes i look to price point to represent quality, but one store i am shopping has some synthetics more than their down counterparts; other comforters are more expensive in the down version than the synthetic.

i am inclined to go with down b/c i’ve never had any issues and it’s the devil i know but i am soliciting advice/opinions in case there is something wonderful about the Primaloft or synthetics that i may be missing.

thanks so much!

actually, you can wash down. i have always washed my down comforter in the past :)

You can wash comforters with synthetic filling in the washing machine. Can’t do that with down.
