Can I hand sew or repair a seam in a microfiber/suede sofa?
Some seams came apart in my microsuede type of sofa. Some kids were on it and pulled down on the cushions and the back seams came apart. The sofa is two years old, so it is past warranty. Can it be hand sewn? If so, what type of needle and thread is right for the job? THANKS
If the seam broke (the thread broke), sewing is an easy fix. If the fabric has raveled loose of the sewing, it’s not going to be an easy fix at all — there will be nothing to sew.

The one you’re hoping for is the type of seam failure caused
by the thread breaking — even though the URL shows machine sewn products, the same sorts of issues can plague hand sewing.
If it’s ruptured sewing thread, a curved needle and a bit of patience will do it. If it’s ruptured fabric, call in an upholsterer and see what he/she thinks she might be able to do for a repair job.
