How can I straighten my hair without a flat iron?

In my gene make-up, I’m supposed to have stick-straight hair: my dad’s hair is straight, and my mom’s is, too. (Most Asians have stick-straight hair.)
Somehow, I don’t have straight hair. It’s irregular at best; sometimes it’s wavy, sometimes it can qualify as straight. I think the waviness is caused by my pillow, and how I sleep at night (i guess my hair gets “dented” during my sleep).

The waviness annoys me to no end! I don’t want to use a straightening iron (don’t want to have split ends and burnt hair–i’m clumsy like that), and I think it’s ridiculous to buy a straightener and waste resources just because of my nitpickiness. Do you know any natural (or easy) ways to straighten wavy-ish hair?

make sure your hair dries completely before going to sleep.
also make sure that it’s drying straight (by caombing through it when it starts getting wavy)
if nothing else works, try putting a roundbrush under your hair and following it with a roundbrush.
