Plum Comforter Set

Help on redecorating my room!?
Im 15 and I really need to change my room design. I just got this comforter http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5692439 and I like it but the problem is my wall color is lavender and its just to young for me. What wall color would go best with that comforter? I wanted a dark plum purple but my parents said no. My room size is 10×12 and i have a huge window on one wall. Could you please help me pick a color out for my walls that is more grown up? What about blue? Would that match the bed set?
Thanks for all of your help. I decided to pick the medium purple from the comforter and then get dark brown curtains so it will all match. =)
use the colors from the comforter to paint the walls and accessorize your room.anything pink,red,close to being related to it i guess.
