Luxury Comforter Sets

Baby bumpers/comforters??

Okay so I purchased the Cocalo Sugar Plum Crib Bedding Set from Babies R’ Us. It comes with the sheets, valence, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, quilt, and bumper. My question is, I heard that you are not supposed to put bumpers in the baby’s crib as they have been a cause of SIDS…and the same goes for the quilt. So…is it even worth the money to have bought this, considering I can’t use the bumpers or the quilt (maybe i can use the quilt for decoration??). Is it ok to put the bumpers up once they are able to have full control of themselves, like around one year old?

help someone I’m lost on this one!! if i wasted my money i want to just take it back…but i love the set it’s so beautiful

The bumpers were great for decorative purposes (my son’s crib looked so cute!!), and they were find when we put him in there to play. My son co-slept for the first 6 months, now he’s in his crib and I immediately removed the bumpers. For me, it wasn’t so much the suffocation thing (because I know he’s strong enough to more), it was the fact that he’s very active, and now he’s pulling himself up. I know he’d use the bumpers to help him climb.

As for the quilt, I have it hanging on the wall, for decoration. I think it’s adorable. My sister gave me this thing that you can hang the quilt from, I’ll see if I can find a link to one.

Also, as far as taking it back… It depends on what kind of pricing difference there is between the set and the individual pieces. If you’re going to use everything but the bumper (assuming you use the quilt for decoration), then it will likely still be worth the money.

Also, I just looked at your bedding (very cute, btw!). It doesn’t look like you can buy most of the items separately, other than the valance and the sheets. That’s too bad.
