Please help…Graphics card!?
Well I have a gateway laptop, and it can’t do much… -.- Like for example I wanna record a game(Rs for example) In HD, I have to set everything in full, instead of none…and then when I record with a BOUGHT copy of hypercam, fraps, Camtasia is laggs like crazy or it freezes -.- I just wanna know is that because of my Graphics card? If so what kind of graphics card should I buy? like does it matter cause people use good ass graphics cards on normal laptops and they start smokin and exploding and sht…
I have a Gateway Mx3231, bought it in 2007.
Your laptop is not a normal laptop, at the time it was purchased it was the lowest end model Gateway Manufactured.
To answer your original question if it is the graphics card there is no way to replace it in your laptop easily, or cost effectively. So yes, it could be your graphics card (since it is only 64mb and most today are at least 512mb of graphics memory) but there’s nothing you can do to fix the problem.
There could be several problems:
1) The processor, even when you bought it was nearly the lowest end processor manufactured by intel. Recording something in HD is very processor intensive. If you’re curious as to if this is the problem press ctrl+alt+dlt and see while recording if your processor spikes to 100%

) You only have 512 mb of RAM, this is the only thing you could fix by upgrading your current laptop’s memory.
My opinion: Rather than upgrade the memory, upgrade the laptop, especially if you’re into gaming.
