Thai Human Imagery Museum, Different Thai Version Of Madame Tussauds, London

The main difference between the sculptures at Madame Tussauds, London and Thai Human Imagery Museum would be the raw material used for the sculptures. Instead of using wax as in Madame Tussauds, this museum has used fibre glass in the process of making the sculptures, the reason being high temperature, moisture and dust conditions in Thailand. The museum now hosts over 120 sculptures of famous people from Thailand as well as from other parts of the world such as Mahathma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Sir Winston Churchill and more. The designers have paid painstaking attention to detail in the design process to maximize the sculpture’s closeness to a live character.

The eye catching feature in the museum is the statues of the early kings of Chakri Dynasty of Thailand. However some are portrayed in paintings due to the lack of information on the appearance of the first few kings. In the upper floors of the museum, there are sets which show traditional Thai children’s games, eradication of slavery, Buddhist monks in their rituals and many more. This museum is the perfect gift for the future generations to know about the traditional Thai culture and to spread the fame of Thai arts and craftsmanship around the world.
