i’ve got a hunter green bed… what would be the best 2 colors for bedding?
i want a one color duvet cover and sheets a different color but i’m stumped. the walls must be white because we rent and the king bed would be a hassle to paint at the moment with a baby. i was thinking white and taupe but that’s so plain for white walls.
Hunter green has a black tone to it so it would have been nice if your walls were more of a taupe or grayish white, but they are not. With that said, based on the white family being a triadic color to hunter green, another triadic color would be mahogany or a brownish orange (something deeper than sherbet). I know it sounds weird. Another combo would be something in cranberry or brownish blacks. If you could pick up a print with black undertones to blend with the green it would be the wisest choice. My choice would be hunter green, burgundy and beige. Anything light would accentuate your bed more. It already has a strong contrast against your white walls. You don’t say what your carpet color is??
An idea for you to try is this: go to a paint store and match up your green color. Then follow along the strips to find colors across in the other strips. Ex. If your green is on the bottom of the strip, choose colors on the bottom of the other strips which you are fond of. You can always go monochromatic and follow shades of green upwards on the strip. You will know what I am talking about once you try this experiment.
