Why is snuggling or nursing an older baby or toddler to sleep considered a hassle and a problem?
Why is it generally considered problematic and just generally “bad” to snuggle or nurse an older baby or toddler to sleep at night?
If you _do_ snuggle or nurse your child to sleep, how long does it take for them to fall asleep? If you _do not_, how long does it take for them to fall asleep (not just laying in bed quiet, but actually sleeping)?
CC, not how long did it take *you* to put them to bed, but how long did it take *them* to actually fall asleep? I’m guessing that they weren’t just automatically asleep after the hugs and kisses, right?
Once we’re adults, we love sleeping close to our spouses or SO’s (not just when we’re being ‘intimate’, but all of the time). So, I don’t know why we have to pretend that it’s not nice to sleep cuddled up next to someone (or, at least, fall asleep with someone you love nearby), when we’re kids.
Society goes through weird trends sometimes…
My kids always sleep better (and I do, too) & fall asleep quicker when we’re together. They do fall asleep on their own if I’m not there, too (the human body has an overwhelming need for sleep after a while) – it’s just not as peaceful & easy.
