Why do I see trees wrapped into question Bali Black and white?

Everywhere in Bali, is involved in something different colored fabrics. inanimate objects costume may seem strange to outsiders, but in Bali have a good reason why they do it.

Balinese Hindus believe that many objects have a soul, which means that some believe that inanimate objects are inhabited by some sort of spirituality. Bali refer to something that "sit" (malinggih) in or on the object. These elements may be natural rocks, trees, rivers, sea, even the mountains, or man: temples, buildings, statues, instruments gamelan, Kris, dance clothes and so on. If something is or is believed to be spiritually or magically charged, then the special nature of the object which is served by a different set of colors, fabrics, being more common in black and white / red or red and white checkered cloth (poleng Saputo), and white / yellow cloth. So often you see a giant fig tree (Beringen), trees and statues of the temple-like responsible human beings dressed in Kambos. Some people have others like to decorate with flowers and even put the cigarette in his mouth (but this is not necessarily to indicate that they are holy!).

Wrapped this tissue, the object acquires the distinction of being sacred, and offerings are generally for it on a daily basis. If a large tree is wrapped around a poleng Saputo him, many consider the neighborhood haunted (tenget).

You can also see some dance artists as calonarang Kecak, Barong use poleng Saputo etc.. Depending on the dance, but may or may not say it is sacred.
